- No red wine 2 days prior to treatment.
- Clients who have had Botox or dermal fillers in the area that will be treated need to wait 14 days before any laser treatments.

The national average for laser hair reduction is 70-75%, and it does not work on blonde, light brown, red, or gray hair.
Post-Treatment
- Your technician will apply a hydrocortisone cream and an SPF.
- Some redness and swelling are normal and may feel like a sunburn; this should resolve in a few days to a week. Some people may react more and have redness for up to a month or longer. Notify the Aesthetician if it persists longer than a few days.
- During the next week, you may develop a fine crust appearance, especially where many dark hairs were treated. Hairs will begin to shed (DO NOT PICK). This may last for several weeks.
- Avoid irritants (glycolic acid, retinoids, etc.) until treatment is complete and all redness resolves.
- Shaving should be avoided until comfortable. Begin shaving lightly.
- You may use regular cleansers and moisturizers. However, NO exfoliation for 7 days.
- Moisturizers may be applied several hours after treatment and should be applied regularly throughout the healing process.
- For the first 1-3 days, the skin may be red, tight, and dry. Some swelling may occur.
- No make-up for 6-12 hours when the face is treated; mineral make-up is recommended after 6-12 hours.
- After 1-3 days, or as soon as it is comfortable to do so, you may return to regular skin care products.
- Use a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen. A chemical-free sunscreen is recommended.
What to Avoid
To ensure proper healing, be certain to observe the following:
- For at least 1-3 days post-treatment, do NOT use any alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids, Retinol (Vitamin A), Vitamin C (topical), or anything perceived as “active” skincare on the area treated.
- Avoid intentional and direct sunlight for 24 hours. No tanning beds. Use an SPF of 30 or higher.
- During the first 2 days following treatment, care should be taken to prevent trauma to the treated site: avoid hot tubs, swimming, massages, and saunas. The skin should be kept clean to avoid contamination or infection; any mechanical or thermal damage to the area must be avoided.
- No exercising or strenuous activity for the first 24 hours post-treatment or until the area has returned to normal.
