Daxxify® Pre- & Post-Care Instructions
Daxxify® is a long-lasting neuromodulator designed to soften dynamic lines and wrinkles by relaxing targeted facial muscles. Proper pre- and post-care helps ensure optimal results and safety.
Pre-Care Instructions
7 Days Before Treatment
To reduce the risk of bruising, avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements unless prescribed by your physician:
- Aspirin
- Ibuprofen (Advil®, Motrin®)
- Naproxen (Aleve®)
- Vitamin E
- Fish oil / Omega-3
- Garlic supplements
- Ginkgo biloba
- St. John’s Wort
48 Hours Before Treatment
- Avoid alcohol consumption.
- Avoid excessive sun or heat exposure.
24 Hours Before Treatment
- Avoid strenuous exercise.
- Avoid facials, chemical peels, microneedling, or laser treatments in the treatment area.
Day of Treatment
- Arrive with clean skin; avoid makeup on the treatment area if possible.
- Eat a light meal prior to your appointment.
Inform your provider if you:
- Are you pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have an active skin infection, rash, or irritation
- Are you taking antibiotics or blood thinners
- Have had recent injectable treatments or dental procedures
Post-Care Instructions
Immediately After Treatment (First 4–6 Hours)
- Remain upright; do not lie flat or bend forward excessively.
- Avoid touching, rubbing, or massaging treated areas.
- Avoid pressure from tight hats, headbands, or helmets if treated in the forehead area.
First 24 Hours
- Avoid strenuous exercise and activities that cause heavy sweating.
- Avoid alcohol consumption.
- Avoid facials, massages, or skin treatments on the treated areas.
- You may gently cleanse your face and apply makeup after 4–6 hours, unless otherwise directed.
What to Expect
- Mild redness, swelling, or small bumps at injection sites are normal and typically resolve within a few hours.
- Results may begin to appear within 2–5 days, with full results visible by 10–14 days.
- Daxxify® results may last 6–9 months, depending on individual response and treatment area.
Follow-Up & Safety
- A follow-up appointment may be recommended at 10–14 days to assess results.
- Contact the office immediately if you experience:
- Difficulty swallowing, speaking, or breathing.
- Significant or worsening swelling.
- Drooping that increases after several days.
- Severe headache or vision changes.
